ONE HAND

PROJECT 01

Sangre del Sur is conceived as a tribute to Andalusian roots, born of weariness with prejudice against rural life, to shine a light on traditional craft and overlooked talent.

It takes shape as a multidisciplinary space in the centre of Granada: a barbershop with designer jewellery made by the barber himself, and Sala Silencio, run by Afogra, which shows young emerging photographers every two months.

DEVELOPMENT

The core focus was a deep understanding of the client’s human and sociological context, so that all of that heritage could be carried into the graphics. The project moved away from pure aesthetics to become a true visual statement of intent.

CHALLENGES

The main obstacle was the client’s unfamiliarity with the processes of the design profession. This led to an initial lack of decisiveness in making key strategic decisions, essential for laying the brand’s foundations and shaping its understanding.

SOLUTIONS

The challenge was tackled not only by creating a visual identity, but through an in-depth strategic design process. Together with the client, the brand was defined as a cultural space of its own to restore value to the pillars it longed for: handmade work and art.

LEARNINGS

The ability to manage, organise and deliver single-handedly a brand’s complete identity and communication was gained. The process also brought the privilege of collaborating with Granada artists such as Tony Moreno (Eskorzo) and with organisations such as the photography association Afogra.

THE BARBERSHOP

The day-to-day life of the space is portrayed: the barbers’ craft and the care given to each client.

DESIGNER JEWELLERY

The designer jewellery pieces made by the barber himself are photographed alongside elements that evoke southern roots.

BRAND APPLICATIONS

The identity is carried over to the jewellery packaging, the social media of the brand and of Sala Silencio, and the campaign posters, with bespoke typographic devices that fragment the name.
